MaiStoryBook: Grumpy Monkey Valentine Gross-Out + *How I Show Love* Craft
Introducing the the latest addition to the Grumpy Monkey series, just in time for Valentine’s Day~ featured in the MaiStoryBook Library Collection:
*Grumpy Monkey Valentine Gross-Out* by Suzanne Lang, Illustrated by Max Lang
Book Synopsis/ Review
When Jim Panzee overhears Oxpecker talking affectionately about her boyfriend on Valentine’s Day, he initially finds it unappealing. However, he soon discovers that Valentine’s Day encompasses various forms of love, including love for family and friends, not just romantic love.
This holiday-themed addition to the Grumpy Monkey series combines all of our favorite things about Grumpy Monkey ~ extreme expressions, silliness, and a colorful cast of characters ~ with Valentine’s themed fun! The book even includes 2-sheets of stickers for extra engagement, perfect for decorating your own Valentine’s this holiday. I love how this book encourages littles to show their love for different people in different ways~ and shares how there are many different types of love!

*How I Show Love* Monkey Craft
I show my love through gift-giving. I love gifting mai loved ones little things: a donut or pastry in the morning, a dessert for lunch, a new lotion, a plant or plant clipping, or a book of course! I also enjoy cooking to show mai love: making french toast for breakfast for mai husband, cooking special lunches for mai mama, cooking family dinners on Fridays. As for what makes me feel loved? I love snuggles, flowers, sweet treats, receiving*books* of course~ but I especially love receiving handwritten notes! The husband and I always exchange a hand-written card at the end of the year, around Christmas, and it is one of the most special gifts of the year! This Valentine’s Day, encourage your littles to reflect on how they show love to the people they love, and what makes them feel loved in return. Check out the craft template below to join Jim Panzee in showing your loved ones that you love them, and recording what makes you feel loved too!
