*I am a Purple Person* Craft
As a teacher, I’m always looking for fun and engaging reads to encourage the littles to be their best selves. Social and life skills are amongst the most important skills for the littlest ones to learn, and finding books that exemplify these, skills, without being too didactic, isn’t always easy. However, with actress Kristen Bell’s and Benjamin Hart’s lighthearted-wit, and illustrator Daniel Wiseman’s vibrant and charming illustrations, readers will be entertained and inspired with these *purple* pages! They’ll proudly be parading around as Purple People, ready to embrace all that makes them special, and to share their joy and laughter with others. This book-inspire craft guides littles on how to be a purple person, and reminds them of how purple they really are! The perfect craft to help create a more *Purple* World!
Materials
- *I am a Purple Person* Downloadable Craft template
- Scissors
- Glue/ Tape
- Colors
- Pen/ Pencil
Directions
- Choose a ”Purple Person” template. There are colored and black-and-white versions.There are coloring page versions available, and two cut out template versions
- Cutout templates have 2 Text choices: “____ is a Purple Person” or “How to be a Purple Person” . The text can be printed in bold black, or outlined-white
- Cut out the Purple Person Template.
- If you chose the black and white version, color it in.
- Cut the Purple Person into two pieces on the dotted line in the middle.
- Next, choose an inside-writing-template. There are colored versions, or black and white versions.
- There are also different fill in template versions for the different prompts: One version describing how you are a purple person, one: version with the steps of how to be a purple person
- Each version has the following template choices: fill-in version with sentence frames, promptswith lines for writing, prompts with blank for pictures, completely blank
- Fill in the Inner writing template with examples of how you are a purple person and follow the rules.
- Cut out the template **Keep the white top and bottoms tabs on**
- Fold the Inner template on the lines. 3 lines = 3 folds. Fold the top section forward and down, and then ”accordion fold” the rest.
- To connect the “Inner template” to the Purple Person, fold thetop-tabback, and tape the top-tabto the back of the bottom of the top half of the “Purple Person”
- Fold the bottom tab back. Then tape/glue the tab to the back of the top of the bottom half of the “Purple Person. The “Purple Person” should fold together to join the top half and the bottom half of the “Purple Person,” and then unfold to show all 4 sections and responses.
