Book Synopsis and Review
*~Welcome, little ones, to a home called Earth~* Here is everything you need to know, to start your journey with us here on this planet~*
And thus begins this breath-taking glimpse into the secrets of our universe~ from the deep depths of our seas, to the vast range of terrains, to the celestial heavens and bodies in the sky, prepare to discover the wonders of our world with your little ones. This guide to life on Earth simplifies the complexity of life here on this planet, providing insights on everything from humanity and the creatures that live here, to the way time warps~ moving slowly and peacefully, or rushing and passing us by- gone before we know it. However, though the world may seem infinite, and grander than our wildest dreams, never forget, *You are never alone here on Earth* (There are 7+ billion people ~ and despite our differences, we are all in this together)
With the holidays approaching, I highly recommend this book for all parents with little ones, especially new parents or expecting parents-to-be~* Oliver Jeffers actually created this book for his own baby son, creating for him a set of notes welcoming him to Earth and sharing with him his hopes and wishes. The witty text and gorgeous illustrations captivate the cosmic wonders of Earth and the universe, and introduce little ones to all of the elements of our planet, while celebrating the vast diversity of those who call this planet home. Overall, this is a perfect story to welcome your precious little ones to the world. Plus there, are so many opportunities for conversation and learning in this book, it’s incredible!

The best way to spend time in nature is camping. I enjoy the fires, roasting marshmallows, walks in the woods, picnicing fishing, grilling, and stargazing.
Our favorite way to enjoy nature is by hiking in county and state parks. Some sun, some shade, some good company, sounds of trees in the breeze or running water, and even catching a glimpses of wildlife. There is nothing better.
Favorite place ever is the ocean. It’s peaceful and healing for me and my littles!
Our favorite way to explore outside on a daily basis is to take our toddler on walks to the park. Otherwise we love to travel and go on hikes.
During gardening season, my favorite thing to do outside is to prepare, plant, water, and tend to our garden! We bring our little one out and have her help (as much as she can with the process) and usually end by playing at her sand box.
Outside of our home, we really enjoy going on hikes on local trails as our state has tons of beautiful foothill, mountain, and nature preserve trails to choose from!
I love to look for birds in their various habitats:urban and wild.
In the warmer months, we love spending time in nature gardening. It’s been a great way to teach our kiddos about composting, bugs that help the garden, garden pests, and more. The kids love going out during and after rainstorms to hunt for worms to add into our garden and they try healthy foods when they put some effort into growing them. The bulk of our gardening is done in the front yard, so it’s been a nice conversation starter to help us all get to know our neighbors, too.
In the wintertime, most of our neighbors seem to go into hibernation mode, but I bundle my kids up and we continue our daily walks to and from school to breathe in the fresh air and get some movement time in the natural world. Since we do so much walking, we all seem to take note of little seasonal changes around us. There is much celebration as we see the receding hairline of winter as snow melts and crocuses begin to emerge.
Our favorite thing to do outside as a family is to garden. All four of my children, me and dad and even grandma are all involved. The second favorite thing to do outside is observe nature and appreciate the beauty and showing appreciation by doing our part.
Congratulations! You won the Earth Day giveaway! Please email me (maistorybook@gmail.com) with your shipping details and I will send the bundle your way!
My favorite things to do outside is go on nature walks and pick up trash to keep the earth clean!
